What was the most effective method of gaining audience feedback?

By getting them to watch my main tasks and ancillary’s enabling to pick out what they like and dislike after viewing it. I then leave them to answer the questions on their own so I don’t influence them or make them feel uncomfortable when giving negative comments.

How effective are questionnaires?

The questionnaire gave me a good indication on my strongest work and my weakest with the scores. Seeing the pros and cons of my work was also very useful as it enabled me make connections on problems as much of the advice was the same.

What method of audience feedback did you use?

Simple questionnaire done on a excel sheet enabling me to see the data clearly set out.

Did you use new digital media?

I used Microsoft Excel to put my data on and YouTube for viewing my main task.

Were the focus groups too wide or restricted?

I had very limited people talk to through the process of viewing the video, look at the ancillary tasks and answering the questions would take a long time. This meant I could only ask close friends and family. I was able to get teenagers view on the product plus views from adults, enabling me to have a wider understanding on the successes failures of my music video.

Should there be more parameters when conducting focus groups?

When conducting questionnaires or Q&A I would include a wide group of people from different ethnic backgrounds and different parts of society to give me the greatest understanding of my work’s pros and cons.

Was the feedback positive or negative? How did you react? Were the comments useful?

The comments were mixed and I believe some people took the task more seriously than others. The positive reactions I think were made through the people being my friends and not wanting to say anything bad about my work, however the criticism they gave was good and varied. Some people I think just copied other people’s answers, meaning next time I should give individual questions sheets out so people don’t copy peoples work.

How did audience research effect your production?

Audience research was very helpful in understanding how an audience consumes music and what methods are used in music videos, posters and album covers which enable them remember and want to won this product.

How did teacher’s feedback help in your production?

Teacher’s feedback was very useful through giving a clear understanding on what I need to work on and what needs improving. The comments also helped in improving certain posts or posts that I needed help on. Furthermore, once I listened to the comments and applied them to my work I was able to see the improvements as my marks went up meaning the comments were very useful in my work.

Would you change your audience research in the future?

I would do more questionnaires on what appeals to certain audiences and how they consume new music and videos. This would enable me to make a video that can target the audience and attract their interest; my audience research for my current product only looks at the facts on the internet and doesn’t include any reference to actually talking to the audience.

How important is the comments in helping you in your production?

The comments enabled me to make improvements to my music video as the criticisms were clear; however it was hard to apply the advice on my ancillary tasks through the comments contradicted each other with many liking the designs but some said they did not like the font or the colours. Meaning it was hard to come up with conclusion in what was needed changing.

How important is it to pay attention to audience feedback? Why?

Audience feedback is important to listen to as your product is for the audience so you need to identify what the audience wants in your product. If you don’t listen to the audience then you don’t understand what the audience wants and what will make your product sell. Business is all about supply and demand meaning you need to give what the audience wants.
