Another Night Out - UNKLE feat. Mark Lanegan

Another Night Out's music video is narrative music video by alternative rock group by UNKLE featuring American alternative rock star Mark Lanegan. The video bodes nicely with what I want to do in my No Church in the Wild music video as it is set in black and white and relies on visuals and a narrative.

The music video is one long narrative about a boxer. All filmed in Black And White the video does not always follow the song in changing shots unlike No Church in the Wild which changes shot whenever a different artist rap/sings or the beat of the song changes. Although it is evident in some scenes much of Another Night Out's music video does not follow the song.

Being called Another Night Out and the use of the boxer gives the impression that this is normal for him to get into a boxing match and fight on a regular basis, something that can be quite damaging to the health of a boxer if the fight often. This music video could be portraying how the stereotypical big muscle man that conventionally in any media text just lives a violent life, does have emotions and struggles through the pain that boxing brings. Something not looked at in the media world. For example WWE (although fake), these big muscular guys are always seen hurting each other and no after scars physical or emotional are never shown.

This video helps in research to my music video as it demonstrates how a music video can still be powerful and send message and give more meaning to the song. Even though the music video does not follow the beat/pitch/rhythm of the song the same way, which is unconventional to most music videos which rhythm stay the same to the song.
