Professional Griefers is a 2012 electronic rock song by Deadmau5 feat. Gerard Way of My Chemical Romance. The music video features both artists in a unique music video that carries a narrative the whole way through. The video is set in a unique UFC fight between to mechanical mice, linking to Deadmau5 image which sees him a wear a large mouse head.

The single that the music video is promoting does not start for roughly a minute of the music video; this gives time for the music video to set the scene in what the music video is about and introduces the two artists with the commentator. Having such an unconventional setting, means a introduction is needed to make the audience have an understadning on whats going on. Many music videos don't start the actual song for a few seconds which is quite conventional. However waiting minute (Which is a quarter of some music videos.) to start the song is very unconventional as many people might of stopped the music video by then as they just want to hear the song.

The music video includes diegetic sound of cheering, metal crashing together and commentators, something unconventional to a music video as the purpose of a music video is to promote the song, and with other sounds in the background, this can ruin the song for some. However the diegetic sounds are not very loud compared to a film or TV show, otherwise it would drown out the song.

The setting of the song is not just at the fighting arena, but also at homes with people watching the fight, giving the impression that this is a big fight which everyone wants to see. The people watching are from different social groups for example people watching from a trailer or motorhome coming across as southern American/"hillbilly". Having these stereotypical groups is to add some comedy, especially with the couple snogging in front of friends, poking fun at young couples that act romantic and sexual in front of friends making it awkward for others.

The video incorporates many characteristics and known attributes of the artist. For example the two large robot mice on made to look like the helmet the artist (Deadmau5) wears. The robotic cat that enters the video half way through is a reference to "Meowington" Deadmau5 personal cat. By incorporating these references the audience who know the artist will have a higher interest in the video and two new fans they can see the styles and designs of what the artists wears or is known for.

The music video adds to my research into different ways to portray a narrative. This music video is unique compared to other music videos is the time it takes for the song to start. Other music videos go straight into the song or have the song delayed for 5 - 10 seconds. Although my song is long, having the song delayed for a few moments might make it easier to introduce a clearer narrative to the audience.
