Filming 3rd October

The first day of filming and me and my girlfriend managed to film roughly 75-80% of the music video with the main death scene still to film. Filming went very well, with the weather on our side at around 10:00 in the morning, we has clear light to film in which will make it perfect for the black and white editing. Filming took place on an inset day meaning it took place during the working week, which was very useful as we were not interrupted by anyone nearby, this caused no interruption and filming in the forest went for an almost 2 hours. During this time we did not inly film anymore locations and wanted to capture scenes in certain light so we waited for cloud covered or clear sky from the sun. The drawback from filming with a non-media student was I had to explain how to use the camera but this only took 15 minutes and from her experience in filming and photography she was able to get many good shots. I actually choose Holly over a friend because of her photography experience as I wanted the best shots, although I told her what I wanted she was the one having to film.

After filming in the forest, we set off to her house to film the scenes that are indoors, after recent injury to my step dad which ruled out filming at my mums filmed the rest at my girlfriends as it was the only free house. The indoor scenes are the only scenes I’m nervous for the whole productions I don’t know if they will connote much emotion compared to the forest scenes. I was able to change the setting to make it more run down and not a positive impression to the audience but I’m a little unsure if it will be as good as the rest, the scene of the loss of the partner was better through the liquid to make fake blood was actually red nail polish, which although when I was first unsure if it would look good, the end result was surprising very realist. I would love to have the senses with red blood in actual colour if it’s possible but if I can’t, the “blood” did look very realistic and by using the better quality of camera it came out great.

I know I won’t have to film indoors anymore however unlike the forest as we got lots of footage that could cover the whole song let alone only half of it. Wednesday 8th October I will be filming that last scene and during editing I will see if any further footage does needs to be filmed at a later date.
