Test Shots Helpful?

Last year my group did test shots for our movie opening sequence however it wasn’t found to be very useful, however this year the tests shots I did in the forest were very useful in filming the real music video. I did the test shots a week prior to filming and the test s were helpful in finding exact locations to filming saving time on filming day and seeing what a black and white forest looks like when edited. The video has also helped in getting used to final cut express which I will be using for editing, this complicated system is still not fully understood by me, how2ever uploading footage to it and the uploading the save footage to YouTube and then my blog was very useful and will speed up the editing process. My test shot video also used LiveType to make the fonts for the video; this will be incorporated into my music video, as I will need text on the screen for the opening premises and ending. Unlike the test shot video the texts for the music video will be with more effect and not as plain compared to the test shot video.
