Editing Part I

The first day of editing was very successful today, with roughly 1 minute of the 4 minute footage put toghether, although I will be going back to it to fit it in time with the music and probably redo certain parts, I only expected to get about 30 seconds of footage done through having so many separate clips that have to be put together. So far the amount of footage I have is good as not all the footage in certain scenes is used, meaning I have extra footage which I might use later if something needs changing. Instead of being restricted to limited footage. I have uploaded the incomplete footage to show how much I have done in one day, which I have attached to the blog; enabling you to see how much work I have done on it. Of course all the videos in the music video so far, could change and be redone or redesigned, so this is not an accurate representation of the final product.
The program for editing I’m using is final cut express which is the same program as the one I used for the test shot montage, by only using a few weeks prior to film editing I was able to use final cut with ease for uploading footage to final cut and YouTube. Putting the footage together and cutting clips was easy to do through last year and this years’ experience. The only problem I had was putting the actual song on to Final Cut. I bought the album of the song into school, but trying to put the song on was very difficult as it would say the song is on final cut however when I took the CD out it would go off final cut, this meant it was hard in working out whether the song was on final cut or not as it wouldn’t be till you took the CD out that then you would find out.
