Part 2 of editing today that took place on the 10th and 11th of November 2014.
Today I was very surprised to complete putting all clips together and adding cross fades to the work, I also applied the Kuleshov Effect to my work, plus I used long takes to bring awkwardness to scenes. I’m very surprised how I was able to put all the footage together and still have leftover footage enabling me not to be restricted in my work. By seeing the song put into different parts I was able to work out exactly what scenes go into what part of the song and not run over into a verse with the wrong footage. The shot change rapidly and you get different camera angles, settings and emotions throughout through using the songs changing rhythm and tone. IM very surprised with how much I was able to get done. One thing that has made it not too stressful to edit the music video is not having the worry of sound, when looking at other students in my class who are doing adverts, they have to play with the sound so much and make sure they don’t have any background noises or sounds of the camera cracking, with my music video I don’t have to worry about this through the music video is the only thing used for sound. I have a gap in the middle of the music video which is the 30 second footage that still needs to be filmed. Hopefully I can get this done in the coming weeks and not have to worry about it anymore.
