Magazine Advertisement Option 1

This is my first album magazine option; I used a section of my digipak to my advantage to show off the title of the song and the artists. The titles of the artist and the names of the songs were created from printing the titles out on strips of paper and the creating a collage. The circle effect causing the text to be all over the poster was done with the kaleidoscope effect, this effect is conventional in the genre of rap with the music video for Ni**ers in Paris done with the same effect.
I then cropped the image to have the left circle which showed the text the most clear. Being a poster, the title of the song and artists has to be clear for the audience to understand. I filled the letters of the main titles to make them stand out compared to the rest. I then needed to have a space, which showed when the song was released. I used the eraser tool on a low strong setting to create this effect of the words fading into nothing like a vortex, enabling me to have text of the songs availability.
Finally I had the names of the record label, the artist’s websites and the year. Having the records labels at the bottom is to give the company credentials that they distributed or produced the song, which is very important in a poster, which I found in my research. The year is added to give reference that this work was done this year and wasn’t old. Finally the websites of the artists was added after looking at Cee Lo Greens poster which featured his website. This can be done so the audience can look into the artists other material. The reason its so small is the poster needs to promote the song the most, having extra information all over the advert would make it confusing for the audience in understanding what is being promoted.
I like this poster at through having reference to the album title but at the same time its attracts attention through so much detail in the poster which would attract the attention of people and hopefully make them look up the song and buy it. The only problem with the cover is I don’t like the text on the plain white part saying about the albums release. I feel it doesn’t suit the rest of the poster.
