Option 5 for my magazine poster prompting my digipack, is very simple and didn’t take long to make however this one is heavily based on the Gone Girl poster. The album cover takes up most of the poster with the titles at the bottom, this is doesn’t so the audience can recognise and look at the detailed cover, being unconventional in the first place, the poster should attract the attention of a reader.
I recognised that the album cover itself would take a lot of attention, so added a different shade of red. I need the information on the release date key as the audience might forget about it if there is no date. However, I believe the different shade of red makes the text not standout as much as the album covers. Although if the font was on the red that makes up most of the poster then the information would not be noticed as much at first glance. The different shade of red makes it the second part of poster the audience will look out, which is perfect as the album cover is what appeals to the audience, and the titles of the song and the names of the artist (Jay Z and Kanye West already have large media attention, meaning their names will be great for promotion as they are so recognisable.)
Furthermore, the poster font is very clear being in all capitals and black on red. Although the name of the song and artists is on the album, it is very difficult to see the titles unless you look closer. The titles had to be on the poster otherwise many people might have not realised the two high profile well–established artists on the album.
In conclusion, I believe this album cover is useful in being clear, however nothing about this album, shouts out about being different to other music. Not having an appealing poster might put many people off giving it any real attention.
