Filming is Over!!!

It took a long time to do it… but finally I have filmed all my music video. Weeks of poor weather and disruptions with work taking over my life have finally finished. The long gap in my music video has been filled, a few small changes to what it was originally planned to be have been done. This change is I didn’t film any scenes with blood or a knife through; I felt the use of blood in this would have made the music video loss it seriousness and professionalism as I couldn’t find anything that really look like blood. Instead of blood I cut the shot moments before the suicide takes place to avoid the loss of the music video having realism.

Furthermore, through no scene with blood that also meant no scene with a knife. I have always been a little concerned with the idea of a knife as I was never going to take anything that resembled a knife (Obviously not a real one.) in a public area otherwise people might be concerned (Plus I don’t want to have to carry it in my rucksack.). Originally I was to do the scene with the knife in my garden and made it look like it was the same setting through having similar terrain. However this was just too difficult and limiting to do as I could only do extreme close ups otherwise the different location would be really obvious. By not including the actual scene, the audience can interpret this in their heads which would be more realistic as I wouldn’t be able to make a good realistic suicide scene that would look serious.

My one concern still however with filming today is the change in lighting. Compared to when I was filming in October when the sun was out and a very clear day. Filming today was very different through being far darker, I should be able to edit the lighting and make it fit with the rest of the footage especially if it goes in black or white.

I will edit the footage in the next few days and a completed music video should be posted soon. I’m glad that filming is done and I will now focus on my ancillary tasks and make sure the blog meets the coursework deadline day.
