This is my second magazines advert option for my digipack and I have decided to make this thee advert for the magazine. This was created using Pixlr. I used inspiration from the Gone Girl Poster which features a white background with a smaller image in the middle. I used the digipack I created, in the middle of the poster before adding a dark red background to link with the violent music video and the song being very dark. The colour of the font further links with this as black connotes bad emotions which connect with the song. The titles of the song and artists are at the top which conventional with posters as you want the reader to see this clearly.
The release date and what the song is available on is below as its extra information for audiences to see if they are interested in the advert as they will look through the advert. The album itself is exactly the same as the real digipack except a border has been added to make the product standout and not blend in with the dark red background. To make the album look realistic in the poster I faded the top of digipack making it look like the cover has some lighting shinning on it. I wanted the album to look real as this can help connote that the song is available in hard copy and I think it makes the album stand out as if it didn’t have any light or shadow it would just blend in with the poster and not look as good (It’s very hard to say what the point in the lighting is except to show it’s a hard copy, although I can’t give any real reason I believe it looks more professional.). The inclusion of the record labels and websites is in credit to that made the song and many people might recognise the logos from other music. If they liked the other music then they might buy this song and others through the labels.
What I like about this poster the most is how it’s very plain but still gives enough the right information. I’m not a fan of a poster that has tons of information and design as the audience might not focus on the main product. I will be making more adverts to have a range to choose from, and I will make one that is similar to this but with different colours and a slightly different layout.
I decided to choose this poster as it makes the album cover and the titles and information both clear. Furthermore, the poster is a dark red that stands out in a magazine and links with the music videos dark gory theme.
